I have known David for years, both as a neighbor and as a dedicated public servant on the Orem City Council. In that time, he has proven to be a leader who doesn't just identify problems—he solves them with common sense and a tireless work ethic.

My name is Doug Gardine. I have lived in Utah County since 1978, and have been a citizen of Orem for 38 years. Watching our county and surrounding communities grow, and raising my family here has been a wonderful experience.
During my time here in Orem, I got to know Dave Spencer and saw how he served with his heart on the Orem City Council for 12 years. He served with intention, and extreme pride in our community to help our city maintain its quality of life. I have witnessed that he is a true public servant who actually served and looked out for its citizens. He is devoted to listening to both sides of an issue and then making a decision based on what is best for the whole, and not just for a few. He is both conservative as well as approachable. If you need to reach out to Dave, don’t be surprised if he’s the one who answers the phone.
I know that as a Commissioner, Dave will treat the citizens of Utah County with the same thoughtful care and transparency that he did for Orem City. He has pledged to ensure that county budgets are responsibly maintained, and that our county infrastructure and housing are critical issues to be addressed with common sense and sustainability. Through his proven actions, it is evident that he deeply cares for those he serves. Let me tell you…there is a huge difference between a City Council member who likes the title but does very little except send emails vs a city council member like David Spencer who has demonstrated an ability to listen, make personal visits and take action on behalf of concerned Orem citizens. I have personal experience with David Spencer’s positive approach to handling community issues.
Most citizens fail to get involved in the community until something impacts them directly. Case in point, when Orem City engineers installed dangerous cement blocks (bulb outs) all along Palisade Drive. Neighbors saw the potential dangers to cyclists and pedestrians. We tried meeting with and sending multiple letters to Orem city engineers requesting the removal of these bulb outs to no avail. David Spencer came and met with us and safety is his priority. He got the blocks taken out for our neighborhood.
David Spencer will be a great County Commissioner as he listens and is accessible and really is concerned about every citizen in Utah County.
Please don’t buy into candidates that make ‘promises’. Instead, vote David Spencer for County Commissioner Seat B; he gets things done and sticks by his word.

While serving on the Council he was diligent in attending council meetings and worked hard to save the baseball fields in Orem for our youth and adults for recreational purposes. Maintaining the integrity of the Orem neighborhoods was a focus of his and he never voted to raise taxes. We have found that he is always willing to listen to everyone and is accessible to the voters. Also, while on the council, he never voted for a salary increase for council members. He worked hard to protect our open space in Orem and our agricultural heritage. Utah County will benefit greatly from his commonsense approach and work ethic.

David Spencer is a "Doer not just a Hearer only". If David is made aware of a problem or situation, he gets right to the task to see it gets done.
When the American Legion Post 72 needed a new location for our annual fundraiser, David helped organize and rented a pavilion to make sure the event was a success.
He has always been a strong supporter of the American Legion Post 72. This is just one of the many projects that were done with David's drive.
David Spencer is running for Utah County Commissioner Seat B. Utah County needs an "action now man" in that position.
